IMAX is a custom furniture designer and manufacturer in Sri Lanka that delivers high-quality and design-worthy furniture solutions. Offering a wide range of services and solutions, we prioritize sustainability along with durability. Currently, our services include custom furniture manufacturing, corporate furniture manufacturing, full interior furnishing solutions, upholstery services, furniture repairing and servicing and furniture exporting. Working with corporate companies, architects, interior designers, contractors and retail clients, we ensure top-notch solutions to meet your expectations.
The company was founded in 2020 at the peak of the Covid 19 outbreak by the chairman Mr Asanka Mahesh. Being the visionary behind the brand, he brought together 5 business partners with various industry expertise to build a strong foundation for the company. Started with a humble beginning with limited resources and manpower; today, the company has come a long way, securing a name for itself as a first-rate furniture manufacturer in Sri Lanka. With our unwavering commitment to product quality and maintaining service excellence, we were able to expand our operations across Sri Lanka and even across borders in a short period of time. Currently, we are exporting our furniture to Europe and South Korea.
At IMAX furniture, we are serious about sustainable furniture, which is why the majority of our products are made with treated rubber wood. We also have the expertise to work with any other wood based on the client’s requirement, and we still try our best to ensure a solution causing the minimum damage to the environment. With a team of masters in wood crafts and experts in the industry who have extensive experience, we ensure a fine and unique solution that would stand the test of time. Treated Rubber Wood
Why Use
Also known as ‘environmentally friendly’ wood, Rubber wood has gained popularity as a viable material for furniture and flooring with great potential. With rubber trees being cut down every 15 years to plant new plants, using rubber wood for furniture does not affect deforestation or global warming. Belonging to the maple family, rubberwood is hard and quite durable than many assume. Since they are sold as a byproduct, rubber wood prices are much lower than other wood materials used for manufacturing furniture. It is ideal for furniture making as it’s very stable, has minimum shrinkage and cracking, and takes stains and finishes well. Although rubber wood has a tendency to decay and low resistance to fungal staining and insect attacks, these issues are easily avoided with the standard chemical treatment – which we are masters of.
